The Bell Jar
Two covers I designed for ‘The Bell Jar’ by Sylvia Plath. The first was commissioned by Faber and Faber as part of their ‘Faber First’ series. The second is the 5Oth anniversary edition. The Anniversary edition caused much discussion in the media and the publishing industry. Many people branded it as Chic Lit and were very negative whilst other saw the design for what it was intended to convey. Read both sides of the argument here.
